BACKSTAGE of the photo shooting:
Studio154 Production ( www.studio154production.com ) was hired by Monnalisa and its brand Hitch-Hiker to organize a new photo shooting in the amazing Capri island.
The photographer was Kirk Edwards, a young and skilled american photographer specialized in fashion and commercial photography, decided to work on some locations in the island and on a boat.
As usual, when you work on particular locations, such as a small island, you have to choose the right photographic equipment. The weather is always beautifull so some light battery flash set is often enought to light the model and be free to move around everywhere easily.
The streets of the island are very narrow and not all areas are accessible by car so easily transportable photo grear are absolutely required.
The Studio154 Production’s Assistants have setted up the photo set with battery powered flash light systems by Profoto:
– 2 Pro7b by 1200watt Profoto flash packs;
– 2 Profoto flash 1200watt strobes;
– 1 Profoto Softbox;
– 1 Octabank;
– Frames and diffusion cards.
Profoto Pro7b flashes are an amazing battery flash system allowding you to carry everywhere a considerable light power 1200watt. You don’t need any power supply because they work with replaceable batteries. They are perfect on location photoshooting!
The photographer used a Canon 5D Mark III, amazing 22 Million Pixels sensor digital camera, and a Phase One P40+ digital back on Hasselblad Camera.
The Digital Assistant received on his Apple Mac Book Pro 15″ laptop the images just shot by Kirk. So while the photographer was shooting, the images were processed by Capture One software.
A lightweight tripod with computer case is avery usefull “on location” digital workstation that allows the digital tech to work and move easily.
Viewing photos in real-time allows the photographer to make a first selection of images, controll the correct exposure and focus of the images, make color adjustment on one or more of the pictures he had just taken.
